Guitarist Kirk Hanser has performed throughout the U.S., Europe and Japan as soloist with orchestra, with various chamber groups and on solo guitar. He has appeared on numerous recordings with a wide range of artists and organizations, and is an author for Warner Brothers Publications and Mel Bay Publications with numerous books in print ranging in style from classical to jazz, rock to country. Best known for his work with the Hanser-McClellan Duo, their recordings have received rave reviews both by music critics and by the public. Their most recent feature recording, La Vida Breve, includes several exciting world premiere recordings - most of which were written for or dedicated to the duo by such award-winning composers as Jorge Morel, Rico Stover and Jonas Mollberg.
Charles Metz has performed across the country with concerts in Chicago, IL; Saratoga, NY; Bennington, VT; Louisville, KY and Liberty, MO to his credit, as well as solo recitals at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C. and Oberlin Conservatory. With the Chamber Music Society of St. Louis, he was the featured keyboard soloist in Bach’s Fifth Brandenburg Concerto under conductor Nicholas McGegan. He has appeared with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Ars Antigua Chicago and the Newberry Consort of Chicago, and recently played with the Desert Baroque in Palm Desert California. As an early keyboard specialist he is currently performing on his historic Italian virginal, harpsichords and fortepianos.
