“Dorrance Dance is boldly revitalizing tap dance and dares to push the genre to a new level of execution, innovation, and sophistication.” (Boston Globe)
Dance St. Louis continues its 57th season with “one of the most imaginative tap choreographers working today” (The New Yorker).
MacArthur "Genius Grant” winner, choreographer and tap dancer Michelle Dorrance brings her fleet of magnificent dancers and musicians for a riveting evening at the Touhill.
Dorrance Dance explores what is most thrilling, brilliant, and beautiful about tap dancing—that it is, at once, movement and music.
The award-winning New York City-based tap dance company has received countless accolades and rave reviews, drawing packed venues from the Joyce Theater and New York City Center to Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival and the Kennedy Center, among others.
Founded in 2011 and made up of truly unique artists—dancers and musicians rooted in improvisation with an investment in choreographic exploration and musical composition—Dorrance Dance engages with audiences across the globe on a musical and emotional level, sharing the complex history and powerful legacy of this American art form.
