Korean Art from the 1980s to Today: The Intersection of Art and K-Pop

Since the 1980s, Korea’s distinctive art scene has established a strong position in the international art world. Hyonjeong Kim Han, associate curator of Korean art at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, will survey contemporary art in Korea over the past 40 years, examining works by artists of various mediums and genres. The talk will conclude with a discussion about the influence of traditional and contemporary art on K-pop culture. Presented in partnership with the Gateway Korea Foundation.
