Part of The Sheldon's Folk Series
with special guest Clayton Jones
Hailing from the tightly knit musical community of Austin, Texas, three-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Ruthie Foster has found herself duetting with Bonnie Raitt, standing on stage with the Allman Brothers at New York’s Beacon Theater, and trading verses with Susan Tedeschi. Her latest album, Joy Comes Back, described as “some folk, some blues, some soul, some rock, some gospel,” illustrates Foster’s genre-spanning talent.
2nd Annual St. Louis Sound Competition winner Clayton Jones opens the concert. Artist and Songwriter Clayton Jones has spent the last 14 years honing his craft and developing his signature voice, encompassing influences of pop, rock, & R&B/soul. Before relaunching as a solo artist in early 2017, he spent 7 years as lead singer of former duo The Madison Letter, where he shared the stage with and opened for several A-list artists including The Script, Jon Bellion, and Fifth Harmony.
The project is generously funded by Mid-America Arts Alliance, the National Endowment for the Arts, and state arts agencies of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas
