Three-time GRAMMY-nominated trumpeter, vocalist, composer, arranger, and platinum-selling producer Keyon Harrold is a visionary force in contemporary music. A celebrated St. Louis native often compared to Miles Davis, Harrold has developed a distinctive sound that pushes the boundaries of jazz through inventive, genre-blending compositions. His music moves effortlessly between jazz, Afrobeat, soul, spoken word, hip-hop, blues, rock, and American folk, weaving together the many threads of the African American musical tradition.
At the heart of his sound is a warm, expressive trumpet tone that has made him a sought-after collaborator for some of music’s biggest names, including Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Keith Richards, and Jeff Beck. Equally compelling as a bandleader and solo artist, Harrold brings a fearless creative spirit to every performance, balancing improvisational freedom with rich melodies and contemporary rhythms. As no stranger to Jazz St. Louis, Harrold returns to our stage to weave the spectrum of African American music into a sound best described as Bop Pop Hip-Hop Jazz.
