Presented in 2019 by The Thomas A. Kooyumjian Foundation, the St. Louis High School Musical Theatre Awards are designed to celebrate outstanding achievement in high school musical theatre. Participating schools will have their productions evaluated by a panel of theatre professionals culminating in an Awards Ceremony at the Fabulous Fox Theatre.

Students from every participating school will be represented in a professionally choreographed Opening number on the Fox stage. Nominees in the Outstanding Actor and Outstanding Actress categories will perform in medleys with other nominees, and schools nominated for Outstanding Musical will perform one production number from their show. The event will be a true celebration of high school musical theatre.

The winners of the Outstanding Actress and Outstanding Actor categories will travel to New York to compete in the National High School Musical Theatre Awards program and to participate in a week-long professional development experience.

The St. Louis High School Musical Theatre Awards (SLHSMTA) is produced by Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation, The Muny, and Fox Theatre.
