Janet Evra, a fast-rising star on the international jazz scene, is Artist in Residence at The Sheldon. This special show is part of a series of curated concerts showcasing Evra and world-class special guests. Join us for an evening of bossa nova favorites as Evra dazzles with her band and special guest GRAMMY-nominated Brazilian guitar virtuoso Diego Figueiredo.
Evra has headlined jazz festivals across the USA and Europe. She has released five albums to critical acclaim, and she has collaborated with jazz superstars Randy Brecker, Marcus Miller, Al Di Meola, Jeff Coffin, Veronica Swift, Eric Marienthal, Andrea Motis, Sara Gazarek, Chad LB, Mohini Dey, Taylor Eigsti, Roy Wooten, and others. Evra's music has millions of streams on Spotify and YouTube, and she has appeared in JAZZIZ, Downbeat, and All About Jazz. JAZZIZ says, "Janet Evra is on a remarkable artistic journey."
Diego Figueiredo is a Brazilian jazz guitar virtuoso specializing in bossa nova and Brazilian jazz. He and singer Cyrille Aimee received a GRAMMY nomination in 2020 for their voice and guitar arrangement of "Marry Me a Little". Figuiredo has released twenty-eight records and has performed in over sixty countries as a guitar soloist and in various ensembles. He has collaborated with Gilberto Gil, João Bosco, Larry Coryell, Roberto Menescal, Toquinho, Stanley Jordan, Ken Peplowski, Terell Stafford, and others. George Benson says, “Diego Figueiredo is one of the greatest guitarists I’ve seen in my whole life. The world needs to listen to his music."

COVID-19 Protocols
Beginning April 22, 2022, The Sheldon will no longer require proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test to enter. Masks are also no longer required for entry. For the health and safety of patrons, volunteers, staff and artists, The Sheldon recommends masking at all times, unless eating or drinking, especially for those who are unvaccinated.
