Renee Smith Sings the Blues and her Soul Favorites!

Renee Smith, affectionately known as the “Queen of St. Louis Soul,” has captivated audiences on both sides of the Mississippi with her powerful voice and dynamic stage presence. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in East St. Louis, Illinois, Renee's musical journey began at the age of 12 in the choir of Mount Zion Baptist Church. Her gospel roots laid the foundation for a career that seamlessly blends soul, blues, and jazz, creating performances that resonate deeply with her audiences.

Renee's illustrious career includes opening for legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Jerry Butler, Little Milton Campbell, and Rufus Thomas. Her talent has graced prestigious venues and events, including the Peabody Opera House, the National Blues Museum's opening, and the King Biscuit Festival in Helena, Arkansas. Notably, she has also performed at the Apollo Theater in New York City, where she achieved first place in their renowned competition.
