Explore the many lives of the feline muse with Eric Lutz, associate curator of prints, drawings, and photographs.

The alluring mystery of cats has captivated photographers from the earliest years of the medium, a fascination that has only accelerated in the internet age. Lithe and handsome, the feline figure has been an ideal subject to explore the interplay of form and line, while the cat’s expressive range presents an inviting challenge to the sensitive artist. Join Lutz for a romp through the little-explored alleyways of cat history in fine art photography, featuring work by such artists as Lázló Moholy-Nagy, Lee Miller, Edward Weston, Masahisa Fukase, and Vivian Maier.
