Mason School of Academic & Cultural Literacy proudly presents The Wiz of Oz, a bold and imaginative musical production that blends the beloved story of The Wizard of Oz with the vibrant, soul-filled energy of The Wiz.
This unique mashup honors L. Frank Baum’s classic tale while celebrating the groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning reimagining that brought Oz to life through the lens of Black culture. With an electrifying score of soul, gospel, rock, and 70s funk, our students take audiences on a high-energy journey down the yellow brick road like you’ve never seen before.
Follow Dorothy as she travels through a contemporary, urban Oz, joined by unforgettable characters, dynamic choreography, and powerful music. The Wiz of Oz is a joyful celebration of courage, friendship, and finding your way home—brought to life by the incredible talent of Mason students. Performance on May 14th and 15th.
