Sam Bush is a true pioneer of progressive bluegrass — the widely acclaimed “King of Telluride” and a major influence on today’s Americana and acoustic scenes. A three-time IBMA Mandolin Player of the Year and recipient of the Americana Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Instrumentalist, Bush helped launch the “newgrass” revolution with the groundbreaking New Grass Revival. His collaborations include Emmylou Harris, Lyle Lovett, Leon Russell, Béla Fleck, and other genre-defining artists, earning him admiration from traditionalists, innovators, and next-gen musicians alike.
On stage, Bush’s electrifying mandolin playing, jam-driven improvisation, and joyfully genre-blending style turn every performance into a celebration. Today, he fronts his own powerhouse band, bringing the fire and freedom of five decades of trailblazing music to audiences nationwide. For fans of bluegrass, Americana, acoustic jams, or simply great live musicianship, Sam Bush remains a bucket-list artist you have to experience in person.
