Join Amy Torbert, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Associate Curator of American Art, for a special Member Lecture series addition.
In honor of Veteran’s Day, join Amy, exhibition co-curator, to learn about the many artists featured in The Work of Art: The Federal Art Project, 1935-1943 who served in the U.S. armed forces during World War I or World War II. Explore how these military engagements shaped not only these artists’ individual careers but also the broader trajectory of 20th century American art.
The exhibition will be open for viewing in Gallery 235 and the Sidney S. and Sadie M. Cohen Gallery 234 following the lecture.
